Go Keyless

An electronic keyless entry system is an electronic keypad along with a deadbolt, doorknob, or lever like the one seen in the image below. Access is gained to a residential or commercial property by entering a code that usually consists of a series of numbers. If you would like multiple people to have access to a property, such as a business, you can give each of them the code without having to worry about having several keys made up. If you would no longer like someone to have access to said property, you can simply change the combination code on the keypad. This can be much easier than having the locks changed altogether. With an electronic keyless entry system, you won't have to worry about remembering your key or trying to force your door open when you get locked out. It's as easy as 1,2,3,4...though we do not recommend this combination as your code. Secure Your Door

Did you know that most home invasions occur when an intruder gains access through the front door? We have put together some suggestions to protect your home and your family.

  • Lock your door.
    • The number of locks or quality of locks will not do you any good if you are not using them. I am always surprised to hear that people still leave their doors unlocked. Home invasions happen even while people are home so lock your doors then as well.
  • Have a deadbolt installed.
    • Deadbolts provide an extra level of security because they must be accessed with a key in order to be unlocked, unlike a standard lock which can be opened with objects such as credit cards.
  • Have a chain lock installed.
    • Chain locks provide an extra level of security for when you are home. Be aware that if you have windows on or beside your door, an intruder could gain access to your chain lock through that.
  • Have a  a peephole installed.
    • Peepholes allow you to see who is at your door without having to open the door. Be aware that their are "reverse peep hole devices" Consider covering your peep hole when not in use.
  • Don't forget about other doors and windows.
    • We recommend locking any sliding doors and placing an item on the track to block it. Also, basement windows tend to be easy access for burglars. We suggest a basement window bar.
  • Think twice before opening the door to strangers.
    • Many home invasions occur when someone knocks on a door pretending to be someone else only to force their way in once the door is opened.
  • Don't forget about your business.
    • Take the same precautions for your business as you would with your home.
  • Hire a professional locksmith.
    • A professional can inspect your doors, windows, and hardware. They will know what issues to look for and how to properly resolve them. They can tighten loose hardware, repair, or replace them. They can also keep your current on the latest technology in security and provide you with tips on keeping your property and your family safe. To schedule an appointment, please call (207)775-7690.
